Allen A. Herman, MD, PhD
Dr. Herman is a native South African and an experienced consultant in health care, public health and Epidemiology. Most recently he spent eight years as the foundation Dean of the National School of Public Health of the Republic of South Africa. Allen was the architect and designer of the first e-learning Masters degree program in Public Health in Africa. He designed and developed the computing, physical and virtual infrastructure of the e-learning program at the National School of Public Health, coordinated the development of the two-year Masters degree program, and created both the Epidemiology and Biostatistics curricula. This program served students in twenty-six countries across Africa. Additionally, Allen helped develop the first e-learning program in HIV/AIDS Management in the World of Work. Now in its fifth year this one-year certificate program identified managers at all levels in the workplace and still graduates more than 200 students each year.
Allen has extensive experience in developing large-scale research projects in the fields of health services research, mother and child health, AIDS, cancer and mental health. He developed and led research projects in a number of states and the District of Columbia, in Scandinavia and Africa. He has written extensively on the role of race, social identity and economic status on the health of populations.
Ottamissiah Moore, BS, LPN, CLNI, WCC, GC, CSD-LTC
Ottamissiah Moore is a bachelors prepared, licensed practical nurse with specialty certications in wound care, IV infusion and hospicea and pallative care. Active in nursing education and policy, "Missy" is a clinical care nurse educator and staffing specialist. She serves in elected or appointed positions in a number of national associations to include president of the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NLPN), the largest organization of LPNs; as an LPN Committee member of the Commission of Graduate Foreign Nurses International, fomerly known as CGFNS; as a board member of the National Alliance of Wound Care; and the D.C. Board of Nursing. She is also a member of the Infusion Nursing Society, member; the Association of Hospice and Palliative Nurses and the National Black Nurses Association. Knowledgeable of clinical practice, she regularly conducts lectures and seminars on clinical practice nationally and she is recognized as an expert on LPN practice.
Barbara J. Hatcher, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN
Dr Hatcher is a noted executive leader, nursing expert, regulator and researcher. Dr. Hatcher is best known as an advocate and analyst in the areas of maternal and child health, global public health, global justice, organizational effectiveness, aging and the nurse workforce and nursing practice. Prior to her current position as President and CEO of the Hatcher, DuBois, Odrick Group, LLC in Washington, DC, she served in several key positions, including but not limited to, Chief Science Officer & Center Director for Learning and Global Public Health at the American Public Health Association, Secretary General for the World Federation of Public Health Associations, Office Chief, Maternal and Child Health & State Maternal & Child Health Director for the District of Columbia and Chair, the District of Columbia Board of Nursing.
Dr. Hatcher started the Hatcher, DuBois, Odrick Group, LLC in 2010, a global consulting firm that provides analysis and research, program design and implementation, strategic leadership, and organizational effectiveness for nonprofit groups and corporate clients. Most recently she has been involved in global efforts to advance social justice and the rule of law and mobilize local efforts to reduce childhood obesity through public policies that promote active living, healthy eating and access to healthy foods as well as designing and testing innovative models that encourage physical activity.
